Announcement:

After the resounding success of the first ever Bedroom DJ Competition we are happy to announce the next round. Last year 15 top jocks were chosen of the three finalist the final winner was brought to Ibiza for a Masterclass with Paul Van Dyke, where Paul revealed some parts of his highly technological and complex setup, a true insight into the inner workings of a phenomenal talent. Entry into the competition will terminate on the 31st of March 2010. The DJ Awards will announce the winner of The Bedroom DJ Competition ROUND 2 on April the 15th 2010. In order to enroll in the competition please read the rules and regulations:

Rules, Regulations and technical requirements:

1. The DJ must play either vinyl or CD’s to control the pitch of the tracks.
2. No software mixing, only real-time hands-on setups are allowed.
3. The camera must remain in a fixed position giving a good complete view of both decks, mixer, and the movements of faders and eq’s.
4. Quality of sound is important: unless the camera microphone gives excellent results, a line recording of the mix is preferred.
5. Only one DJ per video, no back-to-backs.
6. The video can only run up to 10 minutes long, further recording will be ignored by the jury.
7. Only one video per artist.
8. The DJ must create/login to their personal account to upload they entry video.
9. Votes of any kind are NOT counted towards to jury’s final decision.
10. The winner is selected on the grounds of the personal taste of the juries.
11. The jury’s decision is final.
12. The top ten selected DJ session will be announce for their individual merits.
13. A single finalist will be selected and invited to Ibiza for a professional masterclass.
14. All styles of music will be accepted.

The teacher of the masterclass is still awaiting confirmation, so please watch this space for updates.
Remember this is not a sport event, there is no definitive best, the DJ must win the jury’s affection the same way the DJ wins over a crowd.
